Guitars bodies come in 2 categories......  carved  top and  flat top.

If you have a carved  type body then you need a 2200 series (2200 / 2210 / 2215 or 2220) or a 7200 Hybrid because those particular trems are designed for a carved type bodies like a Les Paul has. Most carved type bodies use a Tune-O-Matic style bridge. Our 2200 series and 7200 Hybrid is made to attach to these types of Tune-O-Matic mounts. As in all our trems you must route a 1" inch deep hole in a "T" shape to accommodate the springs underneath the trem. Some minor drum sticking (stud movement) up to 5/16 of an inch may be required. A Luthier is highly recommended.

The other type body is a flat top. It simply means the face of the guitar body is flat as a pancake. The 2300 series or 7300 Hybrid is made for ALL flat top guitars period! The very versatile 2300 series (2300 / 2310 / 2315 and 2320) and 7300 Hybrid can accommodate any flat surface. It has plenty of intonation travel room and string spacing to make any guitar player happy. It has a low profile and is excellent for palm muting. As in all our trems you must route a 1" inch deep hole in a "T" shape to accommodate the springs underneath the trem. The only thing it currently cannot do is go over the route of a fulcrum (Floyd type) tremolo with out a Kahler "Fat plate" What is a Fat Plate? A flat plate will allow you to replace a Fulcrum without having to fill in the Fulcrum route and back cavity with filler or wood. Kahler Fat Plates are coming  soon! A Luthier is highly recommended for any trem retrofit or new installation.  Interested in a Fat Plate? Check it out here.

Please understand if you decide to replace a Flyer with any 2300 series, please note that the mounting hole pattern is different. The 2 front 2300 holes will show along side the trem. A fat plate would be needed to cover the extra holes. The fat plate is in development and should be ready soon.
